Interpretive Essay Fences Against Freedom Racism affects everybody on Earth since individuals are all different. Leslie Marmon Silko wrote an article called Fences Against Freedom. She was a person of mixed-ancestry who has faced racism very closely from childhood to adulthood. Early on She recalls being refused from a school films, later as an adult, she had been pulled over by Border Patrol officers all due to her ancestry. Leslie Marmon Silko points out that there is not any race, however, human race and; therefore, racism should not exist. Silko was increased in her hometown at which racism did not exist at all; folks judged others by behavior rather than by skin color, religion or origin. But coming out of her hometown environment racism was clear. People's interactions were pushed by attending to skin color, creed, ancestry and other biases. Racism affects everyone in the United States from thieves to natives, as exhibited by Leslie Marmon Silko's feelings of pride, disappointment, compassion and anger because she confronts racism in the USA. Leslie Marmon Silko has lots of feelings tied up when it has to do with racism. She had been raised in the Laguna Pueblo in which her neighbors and parents cried free of judgment. She was taught that people should not judge others by their skin colour or other method of racism since those external features could not show what a person is and it might deceive (Leslie Marmon Silko Fences Against Freedom 103). She stated that she had been raised that way and; hence, she feels very proud of that. In addition, she worries that the values of her childhood helped her to create respect for unique people. Her father influenced her a lot to feel comfy just how she is around her hometown;.
