September 11, 2001 is a day that has changed the lives in America forever. On this afternoon, terrorist's hijacked four planes. Each airplane was on a mission to reach four historic buildings: The White House, the Pentagon, and the North and South Towers of the World Trade Center. Two planes were able to crash in the North and South Tower, causing the buildings to collapse to the floor. The next airplane was able to strike a component of the Pentagon, and the fourth airplane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. Americans shriek of horror when remembering this afternoon. Memories of visiting Americans jump out of windows, and seeing the airplanes crash into the towers all still haunt Americans thirteen years later. Workers, firefighters, police officers, bystanders, passengers, children, and parents have been a number of those many who were lost on September 11th. All Americans can do is wonder why? Security has been a significant cause that has changed America following the attack. Thirteen years later, three everlasting effects has retained America on protector since the attack. First, America has yet to bring troops back home. Before September 11th, the plan was to finally bring all troops home in the next few of years. America was never engaged in foreign wars until after the attack. After the assault, the President delivered more troops to Afghanistan for war. The troops were shipped to locate the Al Qaeda chief to bring back to America. Finally, America did catch him. Troops were still sent out for warfare following catching the leader, because of more duties that had to be carried out. For some reason, America can not appear to get out of war regardless of what accomplishments soldiers partake in.
