1. INTRODUCTION Human rights are rights which every single one of us has just by the simple fact that we're individuals. Nevertheless, it was not like that constantly. We didn't always have these rights. A whole lot of time, struggle and several struggles had to await these rights to start being acknowledged and respected. A lot of people in the past committed their own lives to the struggle for individual rights. They were not scared to stand for what they believed in and they felt in a better tomorrow. They did everything that was in their ability to make sure it comes accurate. But even now, after everything they did and all the progress they left we still hear and see about fundamental human rights being violated all over the planet. After the time to pick the topic for this essay arrived, I decided to write about something which I thought mattered and for me, a prospective law student, deciding on a subject of human rights wasn't hard. I wanted to write about Eleanor Roosevelt, a person that not a lot of people now as a human rights activist. The rationale for this decision is that Eleanor was a strong, independent girl, battling for the rights of the others at the time when even women themselves had to fight for a better position in society. After Franklin won a seat at New York Senate, household proceeded to Albany. Two years later, in 1913, Franklin was appointed assistant secretary of the navy and they moved to Washington D.C. Next few years Eleanor spent performing social responsibilities of their „official wife“, a few of these including visiting formal parties and creating social calls on other government officials.
