In the short story, "To Build a Fire" by Jack London shows how man vs. nature and the way inexperienced pupil at the Yukon attempts to traveling alone with his pet, even though it's advised not to. Yet he's stubborn and believes he's right, and puts off for Henderson Creek to meet his friends. He confronts many diverse conflicts of person verses man, and man cried character. The traveler is advised not to make this excursion together with the deficiency of his inexperience in the Yukon on account of the weather, that the incoming storm, along with its own advisories. With all the subzero freezing cold temperatures which came with the storm. "Fifty degrees below zero stood for a bite of frost that hurt and that must be guarded against by the use of mittens, ear flaps, warm moccasins, and thick socks." (561) He's book smart, inducing road smart, and nature humbled him during his journey to reach his pals. He had been doomed from the start, by him being inexperienced at the high-temperature temperatures of the area. He was unable to transcend some of the items that character threw at him due to his monitoring of things owing to his determination. But, he ignored the old guy and his words which came back to haunt him in the finish. The ability of character will most always prevail whenever you are in its playing field.
