Domestic violence can affect anyone. Domestic violence is a pattern of behavior used to establish power and control over the other during psychological assault, fear, and intimidation. National violence or battering, frequently, includes the threat or use of violence; that this violence is a crime. Battering happens when one individual believes he/she is entitled to control another. Domestic violence affects people in all social, economical, racial, religious, and ethnic groups; if the couple is married, divorced, or living together, or even still dating. Another reality is that abusers and their victims can be joyous, strait, young, or old. Psychotherapy develops from verbal, physical, emotional, financial, and sexual abuse. Most domestic violence victims are women by men, but that doesn’t suggest that others can't be battered or are perpetrators of abuse - for example girls on guys, or same sex abuse. Battering or domestic violence, is currently mutual and it's not a ‘couple’s quarrel’. Disagreements arise occasionally in all relationships, but battering involves every aspect of a connection. Batterers using physical abuse push, slap, pinch, catch, or use other demonstrations of physical power to show that they have power in the connection and to keep the partner out of exercising control over their life. Abusers frequently show extreme possessiveness of their partner, wanting there their partner to account for time spent away from home or even on the telephone. Furthermore, sexual abuse additionally functions to weaken the soul of the sufferer and also to show that the abuser has total authority.
