Girls are often looked at as the individual's who use their voice to battle and are fast to hold a grudge against other people but this isn't true if one looks at the friendship between girls. Women hold their friendships close to their hearts and go through the best and worst of times together, it could also be the concept of how girls need to stick together in order to survive. The bond between women is something that cannot be broken by any means and will last a lifetime, this is a result of the heavy dependence on emotional connects they discuss. Desdemona and Emilia in Othello, the Moor of Venice by William Shakespeare reveal this bond between women through Shakespeare's use of foreshadowing. As Desdemona begins to realize her destiny she tells her dear friend Emilia "Lay on my bed my wedding sheets" (4.3.108-110). Desdemona had started to realize exactly how mad Othello was, though she did not understand why as to why he was, she knew that he would wind up killing her. So as one of her last requests to her dear friend she asks for her wedding sheets. In the end it truly foreshadows her death. Soon after Emelia, beginning to understand something is very wrong with the entire situations she states "I will be postponed if some eternal villain some busy insinuating rogue some cogging cozening servant to get some workplace haven't devised this slander" (4.2.138-140). This shows exactly how mad she is and foreshadows that after she realises it's her own husband Iago that is the protagonist, she becomes fast to betray him as a wife and abandon him to the wolves. Her first duty was to her woman and friend Desdemona who was murdered for the dreadful selfishness that the manipulative Iago had. Before this when Othello had spoken bad of Desdemona until he killed.
