During the early 1900s there was a gradual and powerful motion from damaging accent in the critical examination of American life and contemporary society as a whole to favorable revaluation of affirmation and materials. Guy de Maupassant and James Thurber utilized the methods of irony and conflict to explore and see marital relationships. "Guy de Maupassant's, "The Necklace", is about a young couple who finds the upper society appears to sparkles like a real diamond necklace, but the truth is it's not necessarily true.
