Throughout the sixteenth year Odysseus had been gone, many considered that their once fantastic pioneer was abandoned for dead to an unidentified nation or was never to go back to the land of Ithaca once again. Shortly the suitors of over a hundred filled the halls of Odysseus's palace, even trying to wed his lovely wife Penelope. After the suitors came in Odysseus's home, frantic times became twice or even triple times worse. The suitors walked over everyone as if they'd now ruled the city of Ithaca. They didn't care that they hurt, provided that they obtained what they wanted when they wanted it. They broke almost every law of their gods; soon they realized they would have to may for dearly. Since Odysseus desperately tried to battle his way back into his homeland. However, every time he got shut it seems that the power of these gods was holding him back. The gods changed nearly every part of Odysseus return and journeys. He pushed him away, gave him heartache, ruined his team, and demolished his boat, they almost got him killed on many occasions and rescued him from death. The actions that Odysseus once faced shaped his return home, because of his own choices he managed to return home but it's also what caused him to stay lost for ten decades.
