The New Face of Black Female Beauty Since the early 1900s, Black girls have had a fascination with their hairloss. More specifically, they've had a fascination with washing their hair. The requirement to be approved by the vast majority class has induced them to achieve that. Though the picture of straight hair as being better than rough hair still has not left the Black community, there has been a surge of non right hairstyles because the nineteen sixties. Wearing more natural hairstyles, that ironically enough comprise 'weaves' and 'hair extensions' has been regarded as more empowered and more enlightened. However, this picture has a price tag, and though it appears the 'natural' hairstyle motion has progressed Black ladies, it's set them back. The colour of this ad is done in browns, soil tones. The signifier in this ad is the colorless sketch drawing of a woman who takes up one page of their two-page advertisement. She's a symbolic, with the iconic sign, since the pictures that lead people to assume the picture is composed of a Black lady are learned, symbols like 'thick lips' and the way her hair seems, not straight lines, however sprinkled. The represented is a Black girl, with 'natural hair', presumably pretty. The next part of the ad, and also as equally important as the first, is to the second page. Large, in bold, is that the word 'obviously'. Underneath it are the words "If citrus sheen dropped on shimmering braids and soothing mist caressed brief spins. How beautiful would that be?" It's the sense of a poem, and the different colors of brown add into the artistic feel of the webpage. The artistic texture is critical, as it provides the concept of a lady using natural hair like being both bohemian and sophisticated. Under the 'poem' is an introduction into the product. It highlights the merchandise natural components, things that seem as though they would be better at a salad dressing than on the hair. Nevertheless, these components are important. First, the emphasis that the 'naturalness' of this item subsequently highlights the natural state of the projected viewer's hairloss. Second, its usage of Americanized products instead of ordinary African American products (olive oil vs jojoba oil) separate this ad from the average 'natural hair care product' advertisements.
