The realism age is among the most over looked time frames for literature during the last five centuries. From the mid 1800s through the mid 1900s some of the most famous writers and books arose. Throughout the realist age, literature took a turn, about 1820 the romantic era changed, and the progress of this new era began. Realism was different from the romantic era because realism narrates the literary functions through an objective, impartial outlook (Realism 654). In fact the narrator isn't a character from the narrative rather an invisible existence that stays outside of this kingdom of the story (Rahn). These authors and poets of this realist age were masters of mental characterization (Rahn). They tried to accurately represent contemporary culture to improve even just one single character. And the writers did so during conversation, they captured regional dialects as well as the difference in language patterns (Realism 663).
