1. Instructional Context-My class includes 25 six and five year old kindergartners; 24 African pupils and 1 Caucasian pupil. I have 11 girls and 14 boys in my full-day school class where I teach language arts, science, math, scienceand social studies, and wellness. My class is a normal kindergarten group, so they are extremely active and learn best by doing. They are a really talkative group and therefore are in constant rivalry to share their thoughts and also to possess "their turn" to participate. I have some particularly active boys, among which will be on drugs for ADHD, another with autism, however, is now not receiving special services, along with a 3rd who arrived to me from another district developmentally delayed college classroom. The vast majority of my pupils can sit still for 20-30 minutes but I still have 5 boys that have trouble sitting for just 5 minutes without being disruptive or inattentive. I am challenged to continuously engage my students in their understanding, instead of "feed" these advice. My courses' skills vary from high to very low. The best of my pupils can read, speak in complete descriptive paragraphs, react creatively, and suitably to thought provoking questions. Whereas, my lowest pupils know only a couple letters of their alphabet, have difficulty coming up with sentences that are purposeful and often answer questions with statements which don't have any bearing on the topic matter. My main challenge when planning for this period of education was to find a way to actively involve all of my students and extend success for everyone, regardless of ability level. I opted to have channels where 4 students, at a moment, could be engaged in stimulating activities and where there could be hardly any "wait"...
