For my interview, I interviewed a woman by the name of Mrs. Miskell. She is a close friend and also teaches in the elementary school that I used to attend. Mrs. Miskell was teaching for fifteen decades. She's a course of 21 including 2 special education kids who are mainstreamed into her class for a couple areas of study. She team-teaches one day a week together with the remedial math teacher, and one day per week together with all the remedial reading teacher. Her kids switch courses with another course for social studies and science. In this interview, I covered her views on special education and safety in today's schools. The very first subject that I spoke to her around was special schooling. She considers that special education students should be mainstreamed to the classrooms, with alterations if they were to get out of control. It's a great deal of pluses, with nominal minuses. In her classroom, her children are learning to use sign language to convey, because among her unique ed. Pupils is deaf. She has a mentally retarded kid, and the "ordinary" kids help Mrs. Miskell from the classroom with this student. They pretty much lead this student around the classroom whenever they have some thing to do. The kids include her in all, which makes her feel like she's part of this group. Mrs. Miskell enjoys watching these two students interact with the remainder of her course, since she can see that these two pupils feel so good about themselves. She is able to understand that the rest of the class accepts them as individuals. I concur with Mrs. Miskell that particular ed. Students should be allowed into general education courses for part of the day. It is a really good idea to mainstream children into a normal classroom...
