The poem "since feeling is first" is composed by E.E Cummings at a stanza form with a total number of 16 lines. The sentences carry no more than nine words and no less than four words. It is about a man expressing his love to his beloved women. Cummings use of literary devices such like; metaphor, personification, imagery and denotation to express his feelings. "since feeling is first" is a free verse poem and also the speaker is particular persona who's the first person. The character that Cumming created is that a guy who's deeply in love. This poem has sixteen lines in complete and is architecture in stanza form. The stanzas are grouped together with syntax errors. There's no suitable punctuation that makes the reader confused of creating pauses and there's enjambment; in which the lines are broken after a conclusion of thought. As an example, stanza one contains four traces and those four lines don't have any suitable punctuation. To make sense of the stanza, it should be read together. The author has purposely made this syntax error because he compares life to a paragraph (line 15). He had to show that life isn't structured like a paragraph. Life lacks the logical order the paragraph contains. The speaker of this poem is a man who is in love and considers that there's nothing better. The tone of this speaker is romantic and realization. The speaker is in love and that he thinks nothing is greater than love. There isn't anything that can come between appreciate.
