A peculiar question arises as one chooses a theological leap into the nighttime of the ten virgins. Consider the next unorthodox and unconventional exegetical movement that was suggested by one of Franklin Parliament's youthful preachers (that happened to have been out prayer-walking in his community early 1 morning: When I think about the fact that they were all virgins, (chaste, unkind and apparently sterile), and that they had lamps, (the same opportunity and the same duty), it would appear that each one of these virgins would have managed to get into the bridegrooms wedding. But as the parable unfolds we find that five of those ten virgins need to return to secure more oil, when upon their return they find that the door is shut. Now, taking into consideration the fact that all ten of these young maidens were relatively close in proximity to one another and that they must have talked among themselves as they journeyed, (for they even slept at precisely the identical location waiting for the bridegroom), how must the five "wise" virgins have felt since they heard the door slam behind them, locking their absurd friends out to eternal darkness? What sort of party is it when your very best friend is told, "You're not invited," and you have to watch her walk off crying?
