The Metamorphosis as a Depiction of Franz Kafka's Life The Metamorphosis has been Believed to be one of Franz Kafka's greatest works of literature. It reveals the difficulties of living in a contemporary society and the battle for acceptance of others if in a time of need. In this publication Kafka directly reflects upon many of the negative elements of his private life, both mentally and physically. The association between Gregor and his dad is in many ways very similar to Franz and his father Herrman. The Metamorphosis also reveals similarity to a number of Kafka's journal entries that portray him imagining his own extinction by dozens of methods that are devious. This paper will check into the text to reveal how this is a story about the author's individual life depicted through his dream-like dreams. Franz Kafka grew up in a fiscally secure Jewish family in Prague. He spoke German and has been neither a Czech nor German as a result of his Jewish upbringing. Born in 1883, he was the eldest child and the only son. He lived his entire life in the darkness of the dominating father under constant strain to take over the family enterprise. Kafka's father viewed Franz because of failure and disapproved of his writing because he wanted Franz to turn into a business man like him. This obsession with needing Franz to turn into a businessman led Herrman to beat his son. Franz Kafka expired on June 3, 1924 out of tuberculosis of the larynx. From the minute we meet Gregor Samsa's dad we're shown how short tempered he is. He "arrived, hissing like a wild man" if Gregor first left his area in his new nation for a bug.
