Andrea Palladio (1508-80) was one of the most influential figures of Renaissance architecture, who worked in Vicenza in northern Italy as well as in Venice and the surrounding Veneto. Created in Padua, Palladio qualified as a stonemason shifting to Vicenza in 1524 to continue his training. Giangiorgio Trissino (1478-1550), his customer, presented him to traditional and humanist research and got him on his initial trip to Ancient rome - where he later on spent two years learning. His new advancement was deeply motivated by this immediate research of Roman antiquity.
