From the essay, "University Days" James Thurber does a stunning job maintaining the reader's attention throughout the entire story. He explains his college experiences in a way that produces the reader both interested and amused at exactly the exact same time. Thurber portrays the message the football player was not the brightest bulb on the tree, that is humorous because many people can relate to this because it is the same at their own school. The writer uses a creative writing style to try and catch his audience's attention throughout the entire essay. He utilizes descriptive wording, comedy, and stories that relate to the reader to do his aim of telling his college stories in a thrilling and memorable manner.
