Objectification of Men from the Media The objectification of women is frequently utilized to refer to this presentation of girls in the media as a thing. Women's bodies are routinely employed as objects to sell many products. In some specific images women are introduced as being exposed and easily overpowered particularly in ads were that they have on showing clothes and choose on anal roles. These images are found in music videos too, in which the focus is only a specific body area. Lyrics to some tunes promote this objectification too. "In many magazine advertisements girls tend to be viewed as objects rather than human beings. Rather than focusing on the woman as a whole, many ads will only concentrate on one part of the own body" (Objectification of Women). Frequently the focus is on a leg, a throat, a headless torso, etc.. One Guess Eyewear advertisement has a man's head resting on a woman's torso. While her breasts are visible, her mind isn't. Skyy Vodka always utilizes women's thighs in their own advertisements. 1 ad for Lily of France which spans the bottom of two pages not just concentrates on a straight chest, but contrasts the breasts to speakers. Women's bodies act as desirable objects to draw attention to this product. This is happening in increasingly absurd ways. An advertisement for Visa found in many teen magazines reveals only a woman's stomach. A nude woman with her head tucked away retains a Palm Pilot. The text reads, "Only Palm". About-Face (an organization which combats negative and distorted images of women) includes comment on that particular ad.
