The Diary of an Anne Frank The events recounted in Anne Frank's Diary took place during World War 11. From 1933, the strongest party in Germany had attained supreme power with Hitler below their command. Hitler has been Germany's dictator who spread his gospel of racial hatred through politics. While poverty and unemployment were at an all time high he started an effort of anti-Semitism. Hitler's primary goal was that the Jews, claiming that they had been "racially inferior." He also developed an Concept of a Master Aryan Race, the need to rid Germany of "inferior people", like Jews and Gypsies, and the need to enlarge Germany's boundaries. In doing this, he caused many Jews to left their homes and enter total isolation. The Frank family was among many who endured Hitler's anger. The Diary of Anne Frank is really a small girl who tells her story of courage and struggle through her journal. On Anne's thirteenth birthday she received various presents, but the gift that she adored the was her diary that she named "Kitty". The Diary of Anne Frank, captures Anne's feelings, feelings, ideas, and events that surrounded her. On May 10, 1940 the German Army invaded the Netherlands, where Anne and her family lived. The intrusion caused them to enter secret hiding, due to fear of the life. This was the first measure in the campaign of persecution against the Jews of the Netherlands. A brief term captures Anne's emotions relating to this situation; "Anti-Jewish decrees followed each other in quick succession. Jews should wear yellow star, Jews should hand in their bikes, Jew are prohibited from trams and are forbidden to drive. Jews must be indoor with eight o’clock and cannot even sit in their own gardens after hour. Jews might not take part in any public sports. Jews might not see Christians. Our freedom was strictly limited. However things were bearable." Even though things were tough, Anne always tried to search for the good things in situations and make the most of these. After the invasion that the Frank family went into hiding in the "Secret Annexe" with the aid of Mr. Franks coworkers. This is really where her two-year trip of fear starts for Anne.
