I began working at an elementary school at my house in December of 2004. I had been hired as a One on One in a first through third grade Special Education course room to operate with a student with disabilities. Working at the class room I discovered that the teacher needed extra help with all the other pupils, so that I chose that on too. I met with a particular little girl in this course that seemed to be pulled out of her peers and a few of the teachers. When, I met with her she had chopped blonde hair on her ears with dirt on her face, and drool coming down her brow. She smelt seriously like pee and wore clothing that seemed ratty. In that year I discovered that this little girl was born to medication and taken away from her mom by CYFD at age three. She ended up with her uncle that became her foster parent. Her individualized education program (IEP) types recorded her as with slight retardation along with also the requirement of Speech Treatment (SP) along with Occupational Therapy (OT) at school. It was obvious that nobody was giving her a healthy life she deserved. There was no support at home from her five sisters and two cousins. I hated to see her this way, therefore I was bringing in snacks, clothing and cream to conceal the bad hygiene. Teachers believed that this little girl would be broken for life and didn't stand a chance in years old. She had been through a lot and couldnвЂ™t be changed due to her family life influences. However, that wouldn't be the case for this little woman. She did alter and was no longer labeled. My husband and I became the foster parents for this little girl for more than a year and half.
