Saving Private Ryan - Captain Miller Shows the Five Types of Power Many people in this world have power and influence. Still, there are several who possess the traits needed to become an amazing leader. All these people that are positive leaders have a tendency to leave strong beliefs in our minds for years or maybe even a lifetime. In picking out a film with a character that depicted a strong awareness of influence and power, and possessed the traits of a fantastic leader, I remembered a character that left an admirable belief in my head. Saving Private Ryan is an ideal illustration of a movie with each of the components of strong and influential leaders. Specifically, Tom Hanks who plays Captain John Miller is a strong willed individual with a devotion to his country. He also leads his troop through battlefields and harmful predicaments during World War II. It's his understanding of fighting the enemy, which then leads him to a precarious situation. Captain Miller is assigned the tough task of finding Private Ryan who's lacking along with most of his troop, which was split after an assault.
