Fiction and Untruth at Amadeus by Peter Shaffer The drama "Amadeus" by Peter Shaffer was not composed to be able to be a biography of the excellent composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, much more than that, Peter Shaffer wrote it as a story, as opposed to a history. In his story he was free to add amusing to produce the drama more interesting to a broad audience, and to fulfill his purposes. However, musicologists and historians have written several posts claiming that Peter Shaffer "trashed this immortal". What none of them can see is that in "Amadeus" you can find scenarios which are plausible while others are "fictional ornament". Regrettably, his style lost worth and his works were no longer popular in the conclusion of the XVIII century. However, revealing Salieri as only a competent musician was deliberate in order to convey the storyline, which is the rivalry contrary to Mozart's artistic creativity and Salieri's intellectual capability. Salieri maintained his posts in the court from 1774 until 1824. He died a year later in 1825 and in his last years he suffered from senility. During 1824 there was really the rumor at Vienna that someone had discovered Salieri saying that he'd poisoned Mozart. However, many biographies of Mozart don't even cite that the probability of poisoning and at 182...
