One Child Coverage Over population has become a global dilemma for decades. Medical advances have made it possible for people to live longer and have several births, which are only some of the factors contributing to this social issue. Many nations have tried to battle this issue, but not one as intensely as China. China enables the authorities to have full control over household planning to help lessen the population. In 1979 China produced a policy called the "One Child Law" which limits couples to just one kid. Even though the Chinese government hopes to curb the population flourish and benefit society, the One Child Policy has morally questionable benefits, adverse impacts on Chinese society, which should be shifted. China originally made this policy to control the country's population with hopes to prevent wide-spread poverty. The people alone couldn't solve the problem, so the government chose to intervene, creating the One Child Policy. The law was established by Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping in 1979 to restrict China's population increase, and also to conserve funds. The 1 Child Policy was created to be temporary; however, it still continues to this day. The policy restricts couples to have one kid only.
