My Student-centered Teaching Philosophy What makes a good instructor? There are lots of things that determined that the answers to this question. The most dominant element is the teaching philosophy. It plays a considerable part in the teaching career since it determines what the instructor will teach and how he/she will instruct. Personally, my teaching philosophy will be student-centered with the combination of three related theories, and focus on each pupil's individual needs, and teaching multiculturalism and diversity. The instruction should be student-centered. The purpose of schooling is to transform the knowledge to another generation. Thus, everything we teach should be closely linked to the student's concern. The study shows that the pupils learn and gain more understanding when they've interest and desire to learn and they are highly encouraged. My personal experiences of education would be the most influential variable, which makes my philosophy of teaching is student-centered. I received my elementary education and middle school education in China. It was a totally teacher-centered education in China. The rules are extremely strict in the schooling system. Everybody was taking the same classes until college, not matter how precisely the level they are in. The teachers nourish the pupils completely. It turns out that the students don't have any desire and skill of creation. Everything in college has a format to follow. In the event the student does not follow the rule correctly, he will be in trouble. Everyone is the same along with the academic score will be the only determination about the pupils. Below this kind of schooling, I felt I had no need of studying and did not gain much knowledge that I supposed to, anyhow h.. .
