The idea of Social Darwinism has been a widely accepted concept from the nineteenth-century. Various intellectual, and political figures from either side of the political spectrum grasped the theory and interpreted it in a variety of ways. In this paper, we will discuss three different nineteenth-century thinkers and their concept of Social Darwinism. The conservative, Heinrich von Treitschke, along with liberal Herbert Spencer equally gave arguments on the usefulness of competition involving people on a international scale. The anarchist, Peter Kropotkin, refuted the notion of continuous competition among members of the same species and highlighted mutual aid. Heinrich von Treitschke's defense of Social Darwinism was a direct outcome of his view on the country and country. He considered that only displaced nations could stand the test of time, '' also contended that countries who did not showcase their power could finally be preyed upon and parish.
