Language is a system of representation that empowers individuals to encode and convey meaning through the creation and blend of signals. (Neves, 2011). Multilingualism can, hence, be described as a person's capability to keep and practice a couple of languages in a surroundings. This idea is quite commonly seen throughout South Africa because there's a total of eleven official languages. These languages are crucial in today's childhood since they are subjected to a culturally diverse society which enables them to broaden their thinking into every-day life. Language within societies could be broken down into two classes, namely Linguistic Determinism and Linguistic Relativism. "Linguistic Determinism proposes that different languages incorporate radically different worldviews which ultimately determine how people believe" (Neves, 2011) The idea is critical from the youth of Southern African society today, seeing as South Africa is naturally so diverse with a wide selection of cultures. If this thought of "Linguistic Determinism" is proven to be true and we're capable of allowing our youth to understand and be subjected to all these languages such as the 'way of thinking' that comes in hand with this adventure, it can only lead to brighter and more powerful generations being attracted through the ranks as they're then able to picking up on most of the strengths which may be discovered within each speech.
