Bush's War On Terror and the Erosion of Civil Liberties Nearly all the changes from the Bill of Rights are decreased since the beginning of the war. The "War On Terror" has effectively eroded the civil liberties that Americans fought centuries . Through the passing of the USA PATRIOT Act, the government is now able to look for a "suspected" terrorist's land without their understanding and without a warrant. Though this might be a well-needed exclusion to warrants, since it is the identical way drug dealers and organized crime offenders are investigated, identifying a "suspected" terrorist isn't anywhere near as simple as an active criminal. According to the events of September 11, the terrorists who hijacked the planes were part of a "sleeper cell" which remains dormant until slough away by someone above them in the organization...
