Many people, in England, consider that there has ever been a queen to stand above the rest. That queen has been Elizabeth the 1st. She has made many accomplishments throughout her reign. From a compromise for what faith England would follow to beating the Spanish Armada. Elizabeth was born September 7, 1533 at Greenwich England. She was the daughter of King Henry VII and his second wife, Anne Boleyn. Elizabeth had a half sister by the king's first wife, Catherine of Aragon, and also had a half brother against the king's third wife, Jane Seymour. When Elizabeth was only two, her father had her mom implemented for suspicion of adultery. When her father decided to have Elizabeth's mother implemented, he then stripped Elizabeth of her title as celebrity. In 1553, Elizabeth's half brother, Edward, died at age nine. Soon afterwards, Elizabeth's half sister chose the throne. Her name was Mary. Mary caused many problems for England. Mary thought that England must follow one religion and anyone who didn't follow this religion would be implemented. Mary was Catholic. She later got the nickname "bloody Mary" since she murdered so many Protestants. This caused a problem for Elizabeth because she had been Protestant. Lots of men and women who did not feel the Catholic faith thought that Elizabeth was the rightful ruler and plotted from Mary. The leader of the plot was called Thomas Wyatt. He was organizing a rebellion and soon Mary found out of the plan. She subsequently had Elizabeth imprisoned in the Tower of London. Elizabeth told her sister that she didn't have any concept of the plot but her sister wouldn't believe her. When soldiers came for Elizabeth and take her into the Tower, she was so fearful Elizabeth literally would not move. Elizabeth's governess had.
