Historical times are famous for having ruling emperors and barbaric men. There are countless stories and books concerning the conquerers along with the soldiers who fought bravely in their successes. However, what about girls in early times? Can they sit about and care for children while they waited for their men to return home? There is one women in the ancient world that captivated the men of her time and is still admired today because of her beauty. From The Search For Cleopatra, Michael Foss tells the story of Cleopatra VII. He informs us about her remarkable heritage from hundreds of years before she had been born all the way to her death, in addition to, the historic circumstances surrounding her lifetime. Foss starts the book with a historical explanation of this hard work and uncertainty that obviously comes with finding more previously. In the subsequent chapters he divides the book into four important and direct classes. The first being the autumn of Alexander the Great and how the Ptolemy I chooses over that portion of the kingdom also starts his own dynasty. Even though the book begins hundreds of years before Cleopatra VII is born, it is necessary to explain how the Ptolemy line begins and how the family rises to electricity. Foss dedicates a fantastic portion of the text discussing how the early Ptolemies keep their greek origins since they continue to rule Egypt and that continues all of the way up until Cleopatra. Foss follows his conversation on the Ptolemy's dynasty by looking at Cleopatra's upbringing and entry to politics. It believes topics, such as, her early years as a kid, her feature traits along with her accession to the throne.
