Miltona Mirkin Cade was influenced from the black community and women's associations. (www.fembio.org) Milton Mirkin Cade was created on March 25, 1939 in Nyc. As a child she spent the majority of her years with her mother, Helen Brent Henderson, along with her brother, Walter. She and her family moved frequently but she came to telephone the communities of New York City and New Jersey house. Atop the rationale that lots of writers generally change their titles in their birth names, Bambara adopted the name after she'd run across her great-grandmother's sketchbook, that had the name Bambara etched into it.
