Interview Essay - Mary Goddard Mary "Lallie" Goddard was created on December 28, 1922, in New Mexico. She has two brothers and two grandchildren, one boy, one girl. She loves exercising frequently and volunteering her time together with others. Lallie Goddard defines happiness as being content. She states that this definition has changed over time. "With all these things been thrown at you through the duration of your life, you know to be satisfied. I've got my favorite things . My mom can take with things thrown at her, so I heard from her." When asked how she knows when she's happy, she said, "I really only know when I am unhappy. I look forward to getting up early and staying busy, and that I volunteer as a mentor" Because she doesn't like to burden people, she'll visit the fitness center and exercise when she feels unhappy. Exercise is an important activity for Lallie also it contributes to her happiness. She generally goes to the gym at 7:00 am and enjoys interacting with the people there. Lallie said that it makes her sad when something is bothering her kids or grandchildren. She has two daughters and 2 grandchildren: One boy and a woman. She says that other people's attitudes don't influence her sense of joy, but they do affect her disposition. Lallie's youth truly influenced her sense of joy. "I had a wonderful childhood, '' she said. "I had been the only child and that I had complete freedom. I was able to roam the countryside of New Mexico on my horse, and that I only had to come home to eat. My father was a lumberman and worked at the sawmill.
