In "The Story of an Hour" by Kate Chopin, there are lots of moments when Chopin's craft of composing feeds the irony of the narrative. 1 perfect example, "assure himself of its truth by a second telegram" (772). This sentence subdued me into believing that Mrs. Mallard's husband was dead, when in reality, we learn that he never expired.
