The miners didn't agree that this concept and also in 1984/5 that the miners were on the attack. The movie is set in a fictional city, Everington, in Durham County. This is one of the cities which are comprised in strikes. It is a heavy-industry city where the attack doesn't have any point. The miners who return to work from the mine are all scabs.
