Assessing Oceania in 1984 and also the USA This paper will discuss the similarities and differences between the Oceanic culture of Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four and the society of the USA. First I will discuss the similarities and then I will finish off with the differences, all of which will be based on factual information I have gathered both, from the book and the mainstream media. Then I will end by coming to a conclusion to an opinion I've and whether the government systems are more different or similar. So as to accomplish this, I needed to ask myself some critical questions such as: Why is the telescreen at the publication the same as the cameras in work watching us or the satellites that the government has in distance that can see you go about in your home or document your vehicles license plates? Is this just a mere coincidence or is the narrative a real telling of what is and has to come later on? There are items in the book which will not be just as a tool that we have in our country today although it may serve the same function and they will be defined through logic and simple explanations. The three most evident similarities that I'll talk about are the courses gaps, the motto ? War is Piece? As well as the simple fact that although with different intensity, the two governments have their palms and control in every aspect of society?s life. The three differences I will write about are the legal systems of those societies, the solitude people have or don?t have and love and emotions between individuals. The first similarity I'd love to share is the various types of individuals. In the Oceanic society Orwell explained that there were three classes of taxpayers: the Inner Party members like O?Brien, who had all the energy, the Outer Party members such as Winston and Julia, who worked for the authorities in one of the four Ministries along with the ? proles? The so-called lower class people who did not actually be eligible to belong to the Inner or Outer Party. These people were put on exactly the exact same level with animals. The similarities that I see within our society are that we also have three different classes of individuals. We've got the Upper Class which are Senators and Generals who can essentially do as they please and get what they desire, then we have the Middle Class that are people working for different people or to the government, individuals who have to work hard to achieve near the.
