Hamlet and Antony & Cleopatra are very striking plays, they need an in depth look because they are significant in their own manners. Both of them have quite lots of similarities and gaps altogether. Concerning themes namely they both have very similar themes, ones which may be examined psychoanalytically and are represented and depicted in various different ways using characters, imagery, etc.. All these are quite interesting ways of portraying certain topics or ideas. Shakespeare with the help of these assets could correctly project many thoughts to your crowd and appeal to them mentally. Three big themes that are emotionally dominant and exceptional but present in the two plays would incorporate the continuous battle between reason vs. aggression, emotion, and love being a strong asset. There's quite a bit of insanity within both plays that is all due to the struggle between reason and emotion, this struggle puts quite a lot of characters in dilemma’therefore, causes a significant disturbance in characters lifestyles etc. a little example of this would be the way in Hamlet Ophelia lost in Hamlet’s love and in despair goes crazy and finally expires. In Antony and Cleopatra it is noticed that Antony abandons all army reasoning and the fact that he's indeed a “military hero” and pursues his passion for Cleopatra. So is the idea of reason vs. emotion gift. Betrayal can also be present in both plays, though it is presented and portrayed quite differently. In Hamlet betrayal is rather an essential and clear theme. Especially in Hamlet Truth is exactly what further thickens the plot and appears many situations alike. King Claudius for example is called a murderer and betrays his brother King Hamlet by intentionally murdering him. Hamlet sees.
