The idea of a holy crime is something which is subject to comment. Something that's a holy crime to one person may not be into another. A holy crime is when somebody with great intentions goes contrary to the law with what they think is justified rationale. In the Shakespeare's Julius Caesar and Sophocles' Antigone, crimes are committed by innocent folks who believe they're performing well. Brutus and Antigone both proceed against the law for something that they feel is correct, regardless of the consequences. Each personality convinces themselves that their offense, while going against the law, is to get the better. Both have good intentions for their offenses, and therefore justify them as holy in their own minds. The offenses Antigone and Brutus commit are sacred crimes that they justify with helpful intentions, but Antigone's crime would be the holier of both. Antigone's crime is one many wouldn't even think about a crime. From the drama, Antigone, King Creon decrees that while Antigone's first brother, Eteocles, can be buried, her other brother, Polyneices is not allowed to be placed to rest and anyone who tries to spoil him will be put to death themselves. Antigone, however, goes against Creon and buries Polyneices anyway. Antigone motives which each and every dead spirit warrants the identical respect of being set to rest. She feels she is after the bigger laws of the Gods in burying her brother. When talking to her husband about her plans to bury their brother, Antigone states, "However, I'll spoil him; and when I have to die, / I state that this offense is sacred: I will lie down/ Together in passing" (Sophocles Prologue.55-57). Antigone's pure love for her brother and openness to accept the punishment she understands is coming would be, among other items, which make her crime sacred. She buries Polyneices just reverted. .
