The very different, but yet somewhat similar accounts of Sawney Bean and Mary Frith, who's also referred to as Moll Cutpurse, comprise aspects of a traditional unlawful biography. In these narratives Bean and Frith reveal a similar life style growing up, however, the way their lives finish are very different. During their lives both of the primary characters are viewed as "unnatural" to the people around them. The crimes that they commit and the way they act in public are extremely strange. Through analysis of these two narratives, and contemplating the essential similarities and differences which are depicted, we detect that with similar begins in life the decisions these characters made has lead them down different paths and to unhappy endings. One similarity that both of these reports share is that both of the main characters had a similar relationship together with parents that wished to teach their kids morals and values. Near the beginning of the report of Sawney Bean we understand that his parents are honest, poor but hardworking people: "His parents worked at hedging and ditching for their livelihood, and brought up their son to the identical occupation" (43). Bean's parents wanted him to have the very best possible life that he could by teaching him how to create a living and work hard. Bean rebelled, was idle and so he decided to leave his loved ones and also to go and live with "his girl": "Both took up their habitation in a cave" (43). Many people began to see at this time that Bean started to behave "unnatural", "inhuman" and "animalistic". It was seen as "animalistic" to reside in a cave along with "inhuman" to not have any contact with different people as individuals are inherently social people (McQuigge, 13 Jan. 2014, etc).
