The policy of the nation, surrounding substance misuse, has constantly concentrated on each the illegality of the material or in the event of alcohol, moralizing the method by which the substance is used. There are two basic ways to treating substance abuse in the United States today. By far the most popular is that where total abstinence is the primary aim. This strategy could be summarized as a confrontational method. The customer is told that their lifestyle is out of control on account of the abuse and application of a compound substance. At a harm reduction strategy the client would be encouraged hoping that they'd come to the conclusion and realization that their life will be out of control due to use of a substance.
