"The Atkins Diet" a high-protein, high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet has been introduced in 1972 by Dr. Robert C. Atkins. Dr. Atkins believed that diets high in glucose cause the pancreas to produce the hormone insulin that subsequently causes the body to store calories as fat. Then he developed the notion that if we have fewer carbs, then our bodies would create less insulin and start utilizing our stored fat for energy and the outcome would be weight loss. (1) "The Atkins Diet" contains four phases. The first phase lasts for fourteen days and is called the "Induction Phase". In this stage the dieter will be to severely limit their caloric intake. This is needed to set the body into ketosis, which is when the body begins using fat for energy and also creates compounds called ketones. So as to acquire the body into ketosis the dieter is just permitted twenty grams of carbs every day. The sole carbohydrates enabled are all green non- starchy vegetables. On account of the limited amount of carbohydrates enabled, this stage is the hardest aspect of their diet for most people to followalong with After some time some people's blood glucose stabilizes and cravings for sugar decline. The second phase of the diet plan is known as the "On Transferring Weight Loss Stage". In this stage the dieter gradually increases their carbs by 5 g daily until weight loss ceases. Once weight loss stops the dieter then reduces carbohydrates again, usually involving twenty-five to fifty grams a day, to wherever their weight loss persists. This stage will last till the dieter reaches their weight loss objective. In the third stage, called the "Pre- Maintenance Phase", the dieter increases their caloric intake till they quit losing weight. .
