Throughout world history their have been and are several occurrences of science fiction and oppression of masses, like the forcing of little children to sweep chimneys. So, William Blake's Purpose in composing the two "The Chimney Sweeper" poems was to express his outrage at society for having oppressed and stolen the innocence of helpless kids in forcing them to sweep. Both poems are similar in that he uses the activities and view point of their kid speaker to express his rage against society, mostly during his verbal verdict. However, the poems different from that one shares the perspective of a innocent child who hasn't yet totally experienced the corruption of culture, whereas another one is one of a seasoned child who realizes that he was abandoned, and finds his own oppression past societies attempt to shield it.
