Christmas Carol How can Charles Dickens communicate the character of scrooge in the first pages of a Christmas Carol? Charles Dickens, is best known for his host of distinctively unkind, characters that are overburdened. His father was sent to a Debtors prison shot his son Charles along with him maybe this is where a number of the thoughts for characters came from. Following a few years, Dickens abandoned the prison to work at a blacking factory. Dickens started writing in booming Victorian England, in which only the rich were cared for. He grew up watching exactly what the poor folks had to undergo and how they had to live in the world. The technique the author uses is of a physical look. Describing Scrooge he gives the readers an concept of what he looks like, with no visual images. The facial description which Dickens employed makes Scrooge outside to look like a poor and mean guy, he describes him as an old sinner, “The cold inside him has nipped his pointed nose, shriveled his cheek, stiffed his or her gait, made his eyes red, his thin lips blue: and talked at a shrewdly grating voice.” Dickens has show...
