The Old Testament is filled with examples of Yahweh or God having personal relationships with his people. There are countless instances that he visibly or audibly provides proof that he's in charge and works in the lives of these who follow after him. David, who was simply know as a guy after God’s own center, found himself being continuously pursued by King Saul but rescued by God from particular death generally. In Psalm 18, David praises god, the father in what has become canonized in the Bible and is actually a Psalm of Praise. The psalm opens with the effective sentence: “I really like you, O Lord, my strength,” which instantly demonstrates David‘s devotion to god, the father along with the reputation that he provides a thing that David doesn't have: strength (New International Edition, Ps. 18.1). Through the entire psalm, a personal romantic relationship between David and God can be exemplified. David is a warrior, and he sees God as the best warrior, teaching him how exactly to fight. The prolonged metaphor of the planning for battle and the work of war is adopted throughout Psalm 18. Although David recognizes that it was the Lord who defeated the enemy ultimately, David clarifies that his God trained him how exactly to stand against the enemy. The heavy imagery and also other figures of speech permit the psalm to go fluidly in one idea to another. Man made, antithetic, and synonymous parallelism, as observed in most biblical poetry, can be used to emphasize important suggestions. This repetition of phrasing and tips adds to the motion of the poem as the extended usage of personal pronouns makes the poem a romantic encounter between David and god, the father. This melody of compliment exemplifies God’s personal intervention in the lives of his people, rather it end up being personal or community oriented,.
