Sometimes I wonder why horrible things happen and when it's a part of God's plan. My faith teaches me that God desires us to maintain good health, even as our soul prospers in 3 John 2, (KJV, 1994). While I see events such as 911, Hurricane Katrina, the Tsunami and the Haiti Earthquake I occasionally wonder why these things have to happen. I am aware that I can not blame God because a few things are man made. Everybody suffers at some point in our lives, whether it is a divorce, cancer, an accident, a handicap or a homicide most of us have pain. The bible tells us God causes everything to work together for good for the ones that love Him and are called according to His purpose in Romans 8:28 (KJV, 1994). That suggests that some of the tragic events must chance to satisfy his purpose. God also permitted evil to come in the world and possibly that will be to help us with our choices. God gave us the freedom of creating our own choices on whether to accompany him or live a life full of evil. In addition, he wants us to live in love but people occasionally live with hatred (Hank Hanergraaff, 2011). There have been a lot of speculations about the Haitian people endured the earthquake and other awful things since January 12, 2010. Television evangelist Pat Robertson thinks the people of Haiti are suffering because of a pact that they made with the devil when Napoleon was reigning (Ryan Smith, 2010). Back in Exodus 34:14 it states "Don't worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God". This clearly states that anything could happen if you replace him along with other gods.
