The deaths at the border between Mexico and the USA have been increasing rapidly in the last ten years. The deaths have doubled since 1998 due to the gain of boundaries patrol and border militarization. The result is that the redistribution of the migratory stream to more dangerous and distant areas like southern Arizona. Even though the number of immigrants who try to cross the border has decreased, the amount of fatalities continues to increase.
