In the past several years, the part of men has changed a lot. Women have made more energy, particularly in areas that guys take seriously. Men could be in higher rankings in politics and jobs related or similar to that but women have important power also. Recently, some men have been changing things about themselves simply to unwind and win over girls. Even though some men might have been doing that, most men were doing it to get different men. While people notice that girls care about their appearances, it mostly goes unnoticed that the majority of men care only as much as women, or more. Most individuals don't find it because it's more acceptable in society to wish to make yourself seem better, no matter who you're doing it. In a passage taken from Michael Kimmel's article "Manhood in America" he addresses these issues head on. Kimmel discusses how guys had to demonstrate that they were still masculine. Kimmel states, "While you might believe that men undergo this painful procedure to become "greater" lovers or to please girls more, the main motive is that guys suffer from what one physician known as "locker room syndrome" -- the fear of being judged as inadequately manly by other men" (274). This usually means that men are becoming more physically healthy and caring about their physical appearances so that other guys do not think less of these.
