The 1960's marked an era of change and societal revolution for many from the U.S.. . It was during that period that the Civil Rights Movement was in full force, '' American Scientist could put the first man on the moon, and the world was mourning over the brutal assassinations of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and President John F. Kennedy. It was during this time that our American teens started to experiment heavily with medication and their sexuality. This specific motion was believed that the Hippie subculture. The Hippies during this period were strongly active in preaching Peace/Love to anyone who would listen. They were also component of the Anti-War Movement that began from the 50's and could last until the late 60's. It was through this movement that many political and student figures would collide in a "I'm right you are wrong" argument that would continue until and even after the Vietnam War has been completed. Antiwar protest began popping up everywhere there were college students who thought the authorities where out of the thoughts. 1 such demonstration that's still memorable to this day is that the antiwar demonstration at Kent State University. It was only days ahead that the students of Kent listened as President Nixon made a statement. It was then changed their worlds forever.
