He has been called the "most influential African writer in both Africa, Britain and america before the Civil War", and was born in Essaka, Nigeria sometime during 1745 (O'Neale, 153). His family members was component of the Ibo tribe, which was positioned in the North Ika Ibo area of Essaka. In his first years, Olaudah Equiano was trained in the innovative art of war. His daily exercises included shooting and throwing javelins. As he claims in his autobiography, two guys and a girl, who emerged over the wall space while the rest of the assembled family members was aside, abducted Olaudah and his sis in 1756 (Equiano, 356). He was just eleven years previous. The two of them would just become reunited when Equiano was offered a second period. Olaudah Equiano would eventually be sold to a man by the true name of Michael Henry Pascal, an officer of the British Royal Navy, who set sail for the American continent.
