On a Saturday afternoon in Long Island, New York, parents assembled to confer with the latest topic, genetically modified (GM) foods. Amongst the parents, there was a mother of 3 children named Sarah and a dad of two children called Ted. Sarah resisted the idea of her kids consuming GM vegetables, fruits, and grains calling them "Frankenfood." As the conversation continued, Ted shared his concurring perspective of GM foods. He had been indifferent about not even knowing what GM products he bought and fed his kids. These conflicting perspectives feature to their children being part of the first generation of genetically modified kids, and the genetically altered foods were introduced to the food sector of the United States (Hillstrom). Since the controversy continues, more studies are conducted since the beginning of genetically modified foods demonstrating the effects of the goods. GM foods have negative or detrimental effects on humans and animals in addition to endanger the environment and farms. When GM goods are consumed, humans and creatures are at risk for many health problems. In addition to the concerns of individuals and animal's well-being, the surroundings and farms are greatly influenced by the genetically modified foods. TRANSITION Although people have their views regarding GM foods, even the overall population is uneducated and might not even know about genetically modified foods.
