I awoke the morning of September 11th at the typical method. Around 9 a.m. I flipped to the television, which was on a news station. There was something unusual occurring, and now it was not the normal LA car chase. This specific morning that the news anchors weren't talking about the usual trivialities; rather there was live coverage of something large taking place in downtown Manhattan. Although I still felt half asleep, I was trying to focus on the television, whereas I noticed smoke billowing out of the World Trade Center Towers. Although I could not see the second tower I was sure that it must be concealed behind the plumes of smoke. The news anchor talked about the way the missing tower had just collapsed. That woke me up. The information was big and my phone started ringing. My family and friends members were calling to see if I understood about this historic tragedy. I wasn't leaving my tv. Every station I turned to coped with the events unfolding in New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania. All the top media news anchors were on the job, which talked to the seriousness of the situation. I turned stations and there I saw Tom Brokaw, Dan Rather, and Peter Jennings have been in prime form. However, no matter what channel my television was tuned into the graphics were exactly the same, different angles of the planes slamming into the Towers, individuals jumping from top floors, mass chaos, and utter disbelief. It was surreal, the scenes unfolding in my television screen did not appear real, they looked too Hollywoodish, but there were no super-heroes to save the day. Then there was that the reasoning and commentaries. Anchors talked about how the inconceivable had happened, the way terrorism had come into America, and about how this could be the star...
