Macbeth in William Shakespeare's Play Our initial impressions of Macbeth are that he's a hero, he is courageous and daring, and we get this belief we also get the feeling that he's ruthless. Macbeth has just been in battle against "The merciless Macdonwald" along with a Captain is talking about the way Macbeth and his fellow Captain, Banquo, performed in battle.
